Javier Morales who is the past President of the Association of Retired Veterans of the 65th Infantry Regiment and Congressional Liaison for the Borinqueneers Congressional Gold Medal, who played a major role in the design phase of the Borinqueneers Congressional Gold Medal.

The American Legion of Puerto Rico along with American Legion Post 66 in St. Just, PR has been a fundamental organization helping us with providing a location to do our ceremonies and also assisting us by presenting the Borinqueneers Congressional Gold Medal to Heroes of the 65th Infantry Regiment and/or the family of a deceased Borinqueneers.

CSM RET JOSE LUIS SILVIA DIAZ
Retired United States Army, Command Sergeant Major Jose Luis Silva Diaz, is a poet and writer that have done numerous poems for veterans, The Borinqueneers and many others. He travels through the nation and Puerto Rico to read his poetry and be a guest speaker on special events.

NOEMI FIGUEROA SOULET
Producer & Director of “The Borinqueneers”, a documentary film which documents the history of the all-Puerto Rican 65th Infantry Regiment, the only Hispanic-segregated unit in Army history and its significant participation during the Korean War.
* This award-winning film has been presented nationally on PBS in the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands; on the Armed Forces Network to more than 850,000 U.S. troops overseas and on the Pentagon Channel.
* Screenings have taken place in major cities throughout the U.S. at film festivals, community organizations, universities and in military installations. The Borinqueneers has received a number of awards, including Awards for Excellence from the Accolade Competition and the Insight Awards, an Honorable Mention by the Chris Awards and was nominated Best Documentary for Television by the Imagen Awards.
* The film has appeared at a number of film festivals (including the Cinesol Film Festival, the Tulipanes Latino Art & Film Festival and Saginaw Film Festival), winning the Military Channel Award at the GI Film Festival, the Best Puerto Rican Documentary award at the Rincon International Film Festival in Puerto Rico, a Best Professional Documentary award at the Real to Reel International Film Festival in Shelby, NC, and an Audience Award at the Orlando Hispanic Film Festival.
* Noemi was a Finalist for the Estela Award given by the National Association of Latino Independent Producers given to outstanding new Latino talent. She has been honored by the National Guard, Comité Noviembre of New York, the Puerto Rican NJ Statewide Parade Committee and the Latina Women's Council of Mercer County, New Jersey. Noemi has conducted numerous presentations on the 65th Infantry at various corporations and Harlem and has a degree in Education from New York University and a Certificate in Digital Filmmaking from SUNY Westchester Community College.
